This year ARLIS/NA-TC Chapter is pleased to offer a $300 travel award for the 45th annual ARLIS/NA conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, February 5-9, 2017. This award is to encourage professional development by supporting a member to attend the ARLIS/NA annual conference.
Applicants for the award must be current ARLIS/NA and ARLIS/NA-TC members. Only applicants who receive partial or no institutional funding toward the cost of attending the ARLIS/NA conference are eligible. Preference is given to chapter officers, conference speakers and moderators, ARLIS/NA committee members, students, and first-time attendees. A person who receives an award will not be eligible to apply for another award until after 3 years.
Application Procedure and Deadline
Applicants must submit a letter of application (via e-mail) to the members of the Travel Award Committee. The letter should include a statement of qualifications, the amount of expected institutional funding, proposed conference program involvement, and expected benefits or outcomes. The deadline for applications for the 2017 Travel Award is Thursday, December 1, 2016. The winner of the award will be notified by December 10th. Administration of the Award
The Travel Award Committee will review all applications and select a winner. The winner will be informed and asked for acceptance or refusal in writing. If the first choice award winner declines, an alternative person from the applicant pool will be selected and offered the award. Upon receiving written acceptance of the award, the Secretary/Treasurer will send the winner a check four weeks prior to the start of the conference.
